GRX Export Grid Res

Michael Van BeekMichael Van Beek asked 1 year ago

Hey, im exporting fertilizer Rx’s to a JD2630 using the GRX Export. Ive been exporting at 3 meters as the user manual says “3 meters works for most fields”. How large does a field need to be before i increase the Grid Res number beyond 3?
-Thanks!

GRX is a raster prescription which makes it very efficient.  Full sections at 3 meters should be fine. Below is some text from the GRX Converter from Deere.
It has no mention of file size restrictions.

Tips
John Deere Rx Converter
x Proper Naming of Prescription (Rx) files
o One requirement of the individual prescription file management is the
need for effective file naming. The new (.fdShape) prescriptions do not
contain Client, Farm, Field designations or product type (Urea, MAP,
DAP, etc.) within the file.
o It will be very important for the prescriptions file name to contain
information that identifies the Client, Farm, & Field in addition to the
product type.
x File Management: shp & .fdShape file transfer and storage requirements
o Each .shp & .fdshape will contain additional files with the same name
ƒ Additional files may have the following extensions: .fdData, .grx,
.shx, .prj, .dbf, .ini, & more not listed
ƒ DO NOT DELETE THESE ADDITIONAL FILES!
o You only need to copy or drag & drop the .shp file into the John Deere
Prescriptions Converter utility. Additional files will automatically be
linked to .shp & .fdShape
