WMS Data & ADMS 9.12 or newer

Article By Kelly Sharpe

Thanks to all who took in the GK 2023 ADMS training. Hope you all found something worthwhile in the classes. We were listening to you as we put on the classes and have added some new items and came across some new data.

Items to know about:

  1. The ADMS Release Notes  https://webservices.gktechinc.com/ADMS/ADMS910ReleaseNotes.htm Letting you know the improvements that have been made.

Some highlights:

    1. Fixed the BMP issue that showed up during Training classes.
    2. For Consultants – When using the Multi-Output Map Math and QuickMath Scripts, there is no option to save outputs (yes/no). They just save.
    3. Added in “Hill Shade” a new Rater Tool to be used on Topography layers.
    4. Improved the “Fill Filter” for GRD layers, adding a “Fill X Times” option to fill in large holes in GRD maps.
    5. In the “Export Shape Grid” option. There are two new Buttons.
      1. “Separate” – If you turn on a Urea.grd / DAP.grd / Potash.grd and check separate. Click the Export button, type in “Field Name”. It will create 3 SHP Files, one for Urea, one for DAP and one for Potash.
      2. “Dissolve” – Designed specifically for Rx.GRD files that have “Hard Breaks” in the rates. So a CornSeed.GRD that went from 24,000 to 34,000 in 1,000 seed increments, the Dissolve would give you 11 poly-polygons in one SHP file for the controller.
  1. Web based Map Services (WMS) are pieces of data that we touch on in class from time to time. This data is essentially FSA NAIP imagery, but sometimes we can get some other data. I have been sharing the MN – WMS data for several years during training class. Travis Yeik found a little treasure trove of data for ND. We have added some Downloads on the GK Website for you to get ahold of this data. It is available under the “ADMS Login” then go to the “ADMS Downloads” tab. You will see the “WMS Links”. Follow the instructions for downloading them and placing them in the data structure.

We sure appreciate your business and support. Wishing you a very safe and productive 2023 Spring.
